The Coast Guard Auxiliary is the uniformed volunteer branch of the U.S. Coast Guard, founded by Congress in 1939 at the outset of WWII. In 1996, Congress authorized the Coast Guard Auxiliary to supportall Coast Guard missions, with the exception of law enforcement and military missions.AuxA ensures that the Auxiliary will have the financial resources to meet its mission at all times, no matter the status of Federal funding for the Coast Guard. One of the AuxA’s primary missions is to save lives on the water. The AuxA also educates thousands of private boaters each year through a nationwide network of safe boating education classes.Please support the lifesaving and Homeland Security missions of the Coast Guard Auxiliary by becoming an Associate Member of AuxA.Associate Membership contribution is $100/year.
