Operation Life Ring and Disaster Relief Fund
The Coast Guard Auxiliary Association initially established Operation Life Ring as a Hurricane Katrina Disaster Relief Fund in September 2005 to assist U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary and Coast Guard personnel and their families in the affected areas.
Operation Life Ring has evolved into a part of the Auxiliary's contingency planning that will continue to assist Auxiliary and Coast Guard personnel and their families affected by natural disasters.
