During the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary’s National Conference in Orlando, FL, the Association’s Operating Committee met to elect directors to the Board for the four expiring terms. Elected for two-year terms commencing on November 1, 2008 were William Furbee and Henry Pratt as Auxiliary member directors, and, Anne Brengle and Rocky Mitchell as non-Auxiliary member directors. In addition, the election of the new National Commodore and National Vice Commodore, who also serve on the Association’s Board of Directors, results in Nicholas Kerigan becoming the Chief Executive Officer/Chairman of the Board and James Vass becoming the Chief Operating Officer/President of the Association. Steven Budar, as Past National Commodore, will become the Executive Vice President for the Association. The annual meeting and the annual director’s training session of the Board of Directors are scheduled for the last week of October in the Washington, DC area. The Board recognized Director Ruth Wood who completes her term of office on October 31, 2008 for her dedication and voluntary service to the Association for the past two years. She is one of the first non-Auxiliary directors under the revamped structure of the Board of Directors that occurred in 2006.
